Games : LuaPlayerHM 5.0 ( 3.xx Kernel )

HOMEMISTER and PickDat have released an update to luaplayerHM. Now at version 5.0 LuaplayerHM adds functions with support for Adhoc connections. This is the must have LuaPlayer mod, since it runs on the 3.xx Kernel all PSP users even slim, ( running m33 custom firmware ) can enjoy Lua scripts.
What is LuaplayerHM? I can hear you asking, well it's a mod of the classic Luaplayer built by Shine for the 1.XX and 2.xx kernel ( classic PSP ). Luaplayer executes programs written in Lua, a very simple and easy to learn scripting language. One of the fastest ways to start programing on the Sony PSP.

Games : pikey 0.2

Noobz.eu have released an update to ?Key v0.2 (or pikey). ?Key lets psp users use an IR keyboard in the XMB menu, games, web browser, and homebrew. I ordered and received the Targus Universal Wireless keyboard two days ago and have tested this very nice plug in. Keep in mind It works best in custom fw 3.10 OE A. I had to downgrade one of my PSPS to use this plug in.
image of the Targus Universal Wireless keyboard
In my tests ?Key works great in fw 3.10 OE A. Full control of the psp from a keyboard means a more powerful system all around. When it comes to games some just play better on a keyboard and it's good to have that option. not having to use an OSK (on screen keyboard) makes for a faster and better web browser. This is yet another great example of what’s right with homebrew and Sony really should take note.
Quote: Major updates:
* A new keypress mode, which allows more natural use of the keyboard in action games etc. The default mode is now keypress mode, and the keyboard will switch automatically to text input mode when required.
* Custom key-to-button assignment - so now you can define WASD buttons for FPS game movement, as well as cursor keys for XMB movement, for instance.
* Support for mapping keypresses to analog joystick movements.
* Support for converting keypresses into Danzeff OSK presses - so now you can use your physical keyboard with homebrew that uses the Danzeff virtual keyboard - e.g. AFKIM.
* Installer now fixed to correctly install to flash0, to support GAME150 homebrew.
* Palm UW keyboard ought to at least partially work, but I can't test it myself.
* Optional on-screen status information.
* Various minor bugfixes.

Dark_Alex, Mathieulh and Harleyg have released a new custom Firmware 3.40 OE-A. This New Custom Firmware works by converting fw3.40 and fw1.5 into a new Firmware.
Image from Metal Gear Solid VR Missions - PSX on PSP
Note: again I don't post anything here I have not tested myself. I have used this custom firmware on 4 TA-082 PSPs and 1 original fw1.5 (TA-079) and it works great. Thx Dark_Alex, Mathieulh and Harleyg.
Quote: Creating the DXAR file - Copy oeupdmaker and oeupdmaker% to /PSP/GAME/ if you are using 1.50 firmware and to /PSP/GAME150 if you are using whatever version of 2.71 SE or 3.xx OE. - Get the 1.50 and 3.40 Sony updaters in the oeupdmaker folder with the names "150.PBP" and "340.PBP".
- Run the program. This program won't write to the flash, it will just create a file called DATA.DXAR in the same directory (oeupdmaker).
- The program will verify that the SHA-1 of the generated file is correct.
- Once that you have done this, you can save the DATA.DXAR file to skip this step in the future.
Flashing 3.40 OE
- Copy the directories 340oeflasher and 340oeflasher% to /PSP/GAME (or /PSP/GAME150 if you are on 2.71 SE or 3.xx OE) - Copy the generated DATA.DXAR file at oeflasher directory.
- Run the flasher. If your battery is less than 75%, the program will show the error saying that and will return to the XMB.
- After finished, shutdown the psp and restart manually... to 3.40 OE :)

Warning: There is always a chance that you may brick your PSP when running a Custom Firmware, so please Follow ALL directions exactly. If you try this it's at your own risk.

Dark_Alex, Mathieulh and Harleyg have released a new custom Firmware 3.03 OE-A. This New Custom Firmware works by converting fw3.03 and fw1.5 into a new Firmware 3.03 OE-A. 3.03 OE-A also adds the some fixes to the PSX emulator Sony updated in 3.03.
The emulator can now run compressed PSX games. One of my favorite is cowboy bebop, my backup image of the game is 724MB with the compression it's down to 186MB. Note: not all games will compress this much but it all helps.

Games : HEND 2.71
|
| Posted by yashamaru on 2007/1/16 19:30:00 (1684 reads) |
This one is old but still good. I got a request today for more info on HEND so here it is. HEND uses a hack found in version 2.71 tiff images on the PSP. This hack unlocks the PSP and will make it able to run homebrew/unsigned code.
HEND - Instructions
- Copy all contents inside MS_ROOT to the root of your memory stick. - Go to the PHOTO viewer of the XMB and enter in the folder "HENB". - If the psp just freeze, reboot your psp and try again. Currently the tiff is very unstable and it is only executed sometimes. I'll try to improve that in the future. - The first time you run the program, you will see quickly a blue screen, and after that a screen that can be of two colors:
* Red: the files couldn't be written to the flash (it hapens a few times). Just keep trying.
* Green: The files were written succesfully. After that, the xmb will be rebooted. Now you can run the homebrew in format prepared for 2.71. (see details below).
- As mentioned before, the patch will remain resident in memory, and even entering sleep mode won't delete it. Only a hardware reset will remove the program from memory.
- When you do a hardware reset, you'll have to run the tiff again. This time there won't be green or red screen, just a blue screen and xmb reboot, since this time there is no need to write to the flash.
Note: the files pspbtknf.txt, pspbtknf_game.txt, pspbtknf_updater, and systemctrl.prx in the root of the memory stick are only needed the first time the program is executed. After that you can delete those. However, don't delete patch.bin, h.bin and the folder with the tiff, since you will need those the next time you do a hard reset and want to run the program again.

If when using the psp you or someone else deletes just the HEND folder in the PHOTO menu you can download it here |

Games : 3.02 OE-A Custom Firmware

| Posted by yashamaru on 2007/1/3 0:38:42 (1119 reads) |
Dark_Alex, Mathieulh and Harleyg have released 3.02 OE-A. 3.02 OE-A is a custom Firmware for your fw1.5 PSP (or 2.71-SE). This Custom Firmware works by converting fw3.02 and fw1.5 into a new Firmware 3.02 OE. 3.02 OE also adds the limited but very nice PSX emulator made by Sony into a true emulator. The emulator has already been hacked and converting your Playstation favorites into EBOOTs is very easy.

Note: I don't post anything here I have not tested myself. I have used this custom firmware on 2 TA-082 PSPs and one orignal fw1.5 (TA-079) and it worked great. Thx Dark_Alex, Mathieulh and Harleyg.
